Featured City Thompson Falls
Thompson Falls was named after British explorer, geographer, and fur trader David Thompson, who founded the North West Company Fur Trading Post in 1809.
It is part of millions of acres of national forest offering recreational opportunities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping and hunting. Winter provides backcountry skiing and snowmobiling.
Thompson Falls sits along the Clark Fork River and is located next to natural waterfalls. The Thompson Falls Dam was constructed in 1915 at the top of the original falls. It is a friendly community nestled in a quiet valley.
