Featured City Black Eagle
Black Eagle was first called "Little Chicago" – a reference to the industrialized nature of the early town. When the post office was established in 1917, the name of the town officially became Black Eagle for the falls of the same name on the Missouri River, which was named by Capt. Meriwether Lewis.
The town is near Giant Springs State Park, Black Eagle Falls Overlook, and the Roe River which is the world's shortest river.
